I’m Joe McMullen, founder of Blackbird Digital Marketing. I’m a chemical engineer with an MBA from Villanova University. I’ve spent more than 25 years in industrial software and technical industries, including at AVEVA, and the last 15 focused on marketing to technical buyers.
Along the way I’ve written white papers, website copy, and ad copy, and built and delivered technical presentations. That work taught me how engineers evaluate claims and how executives decide, which are two very different processes. Most marketing gets one of them wrong.
I started Executive Presence Engineering™ because the people who know their work best are often the least visible in their markets, and the reasons are good ones. Their expertise sits under NDAs. Their peers are watching. Their time is spoken for. The usual answers, such as posting more, hiring an agency, or becoming a personality, cost them something they can’t afford to lose. So I built a process that doesn’t ask for that.
